Hello my name is Heather Moeckel. I am the Showroom Designer for the Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Greenville and Anderson South Carolina. I’d like to welcome you to our first blog. In this blog you will receive helpful hints on designing and decorating your perfect space. So let’s get started!
Today we are going to talk about Style. If you are planning to purchase new furniture, you might want to start thinking about the style that represents your taste. Generally, there are five basic style categories that are used to help guide you.
Formal Traditional- which includes English designs such as Queene Anne, Chippendale, Louis XV and Louis XVI.
Formal Modern- which can consist of Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Classic Modern and Post-Modern.
Informal Provincial- which include Rustic, Colonial, Georgian and Spanish styles.
Informal Modern- which incorporates fun “funky” designs mostly from American Designers.
Eclectic- Remember, this style is more of a mixing rather than matching. This does not mean “hodgepodge” the furnishings should relate in some way such as scale, texture or formality and have a final goal in mind.
So think about what defines you and come in and shop at one of our local homestores to find your perect Style. We have locations in Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson.
