Blaming the economy for a church shooting

By Amy Wood
Monday, July 28, 2008

Armed with a gun, police say a 58 year old man who couldn’t find a job, walked into a church program packed with children and their families and started shooting. The violence in Tennessee left two people dead. Seven are wounded and recovering.  One family issued a statement tonight.

Here is what the Barnhard family is saying.
The entire Barnhart family would like to thank our friends and the community for their calls, visits and prayers. We would first like to express our deepest regrets to the family of Greg McKendry, and our prayers and thoughts are with his family. We are heartbroken with the loss of our dear friend Linda Kraeger and our prayers are also with her family.

Even though the Barnhart family had never attended the church until last Sunday to attend the children’s play, they would like to thank the church family for their prayers. We would like to express our most sincere thank you to the UT Medical Center staff for their non-stop care. Our family members continue to recover and we ask that your prayers continue for all that have been involved in this tragic event.

The gunman, Jim Adkisson, according to police picked the church because it takes a “liberal social stance” and said that he couldnt’ get a job but the liberals can.

it is really sad when things like this happen. Unfortunately, there is not a perfectly safe place for people to gather. Mental health or someones mental state, unfortunately can not be predicted

Weirdos are everywhere - church, WalMart, the grocery store, the gas station!  We just have to trust in God to protect us no matter where we are or what we are doing.

However, how can a church be “liberal?”

WOW!!
I can’t believe this!?  You never know?  I pray for the families and the church congregation that they will make it through this.
God bless!

I don’t think the church’s social policies should have been an issue for this man, or for us.  Some people who love God very deeply happen to be more accepting and less judgemental than others who love God equally as deeply.  Blaming the ecomomy for the fact that you’ve gunned down children is evil and narcissistic.
