BLOGPOLL - Oprah won’t interview Sarah Palin

By Amy Wood
Monday, September 08, 2008

Oprah Winfrey says she won’t interview Sarah Palin and invite her on the show until after the election.  The Vice Presidential hopeful is a republican.  Winfrey’s backed Barack Obama, the democrat running to capture the White House.
Some fans understand.  Oprah’s a Barack supporter and it’s her show.  She can do as she likes.
But other woman are mad.  They say the talk show host has forgotten who took her to the top.  Palin is of great interest to women, they argue… so put her on the show, so the audience can decide for themselves.
      Where do you stand?
And will Oprah’s stance on this ifluence your viewing habits?  Vote in the Blogpoll and comment below.

It is her show and she can what she wants, but it sound kind of one sided to me.  If Maury, CNN, Fox, or whoever chose to only interview McCain or Palin, I am sure that Oprah would be one of the first ones to scream racism…What a sad, one sided world we live in!

Will I change my viewing of Oprah?  ABsolutely not.  I have never watched Oprah and have always felt her shows are one sided.

I agree with Linda. It’s HER show. And why is people making a big deal about it anyways, Oprah is NOT GOD!!!

I Believe she’s just got her eyes set on Obama

I used to watch Oprah.  Never again!  Diss another working woman - as a working woman myself, I don’t appreciate her attitude.

It’s her show, she can do what she wants.  It’s my TV, I can watch what I want!

I would like to think she would be a better person than she is showing. If she is a person for the people she would have Sen. McCain and Gov Palin on her show. All for the other talk show host give equal time to all.

I don’t watch Oprah anyway, but my opinion
of her just dropped even further.  This is
a hugh milestone for women and she will not
even consider inviting her on, how sad.  She needs to grow up and be a professional.

And if she does invite her on after the election,
I hope Palin declines, its not worth her time.

Through the years, Oprah has done a lot of good stuff.  However, I do believe she is a bit prejudiced in some of her choices of guests.  Gov. Palin is making history.  It is a shame that Oprah doesn’t want anything to do with that part of history making events.  I stopped watching Oprah a long time ago when I never could get her show to answer emails or snail mail.  So, who cares what she does?  I sure don’t.

I wonder if the networks who air her show feel the same as Oprah does.  Even though it is Oprah’s show, I think the networks should take another look as to whether to air her shows. It will never happen!

I don’t watch Oprah anyway, but the woman has the right to do as she wishes on her show, just like the major news media has the right to tell you what they want to on their shows, even tho, they are as biased, i mean come on, they pic who they want you to hear about, forget about a 3rd or 4th party. people need to stop throwing stones at glass house’s. and, i don’t like palin, anyone that says it’s ok to shoot wolves and bears out of airplanes and hellicoptors? no ty.

Well by no means am I surprised that she won’t because she is all about some Obama…..But she needs to look at on the end for all the women out here!!!!!  Go Palin!!!  She has it going on just as Oprah does….this doesn’t make Oprah look good….

Oprah is pathetic and I refuse to watch her.  Too bad many choose to waste their time on her agenda-driven show.  I see no value in what she does and this is yet another clear indicator that she has lost touch with reality.  I don’t recall her being quite this way back when she first started her show - - interesting what fame and fortune bring.  But, if she sticks with this decision, then the GOP will be thanking her for all the votes coming our way from those she continues to offend and drive away.  Good job, Oprah.  What a wonderful role model - not.

Amy, I too feel that Oprah has every right to have on whoever she wants to interview.  I feel that Mrs. Palin is just a little too glib and flippant to be a world leader. John McCain won’t run again next election and do “WE” want her to be the president??  I was leaning towards JM before his choice, now I have a lot of doubts and concern…this isn’t a contest like Mrs. USA or something similar.

I haven’t decided who I wanna vote for yet, but not veiwing both sides even though she has choose who she wants isn’t right. I don’t know if David Letterman has had either party on his talk shows but I know he wouldn’t be this way. He has probably decided who he wants as president, but I doubt he would be this way! I don’t like her as a person. I defenitly HATE her talk shows! They stink! I think she is a racist. She has always been this way from the start!

I have not watched Oprah for many years. She is all about Oprah, not women as she claims. She seems to believe in her own press, that she is the end all be all and has all the insights and answers we all need. We just need to read what she tells us, buy what she likes, be spiritual in the way she tells us, etc. If I were Gov. Palin, I would never appear on her show. Over the years she has shown her onesided, often racist self, even if cleverly disguised. I am not fooled by her and I hope others will not be either. Eveyone shows their true nature in time. I think this is just the begining for many once loyal Oprah fans. Switch the channel. I did many years ago.

do not waste my time listening or watching Oprah

Down with her. If she can’t be “fair” for an hour, what is she doing on TV? America has given her what she wanted, how about the same offer be afforded to “someone of a different color?” Isn’t that what all this is about?

Debbie Debbie | September 11, 2008 at 9:58 pm

Once Oprah convinced Obama to run she did not have Hillary on the show either.  It is the same thing.  The election is not about her show or who she does or doesn’t support.  If she doesn’t have Biden on her show how can she be criticized for not being fair.  I think her decision is a wise one considering the fact that everyone know who her candidate is.  There are many news shows on the air that hopefully will host Obama and McCain as well as their running mates.  This election is too crucial to be caught up in unimportant trivia that will be forgotten once the election is over.  Oprah’s guests or lack thereof is trivia.
