Breaking up is hard to do

Heartbreaking. Tonight’s episode (just in time for Valentines Day might I add) ended on such a heartbreaking note that I have to admit I had a tear or two in my eye.  Watching Lorelai break down, and, voice-cracking say that she wanted to want Christopher was such a sad sight.  Of course, I have to admit that I have not been a member of Christopher’s fan club so I am not that sorry to see him go, but nonetheless I am a big fan of Lorelai’s and I want her to be happy.  I don’t believe we will see her go running to Luke either because as she told Sookie, Luke was distant and didn’t want to marry her.  What a sad state for our girl to be in right now!
Rory is quite the other story, although the cynic that I am (and that the old Gilmore episodes taught us to be) thinks that this bliss won’t last forever.  Logan is being perfectly sweet and loving and wonderful and so Rory walks around with googly eyes and a possum grin….oh wait is that because of Logan or the economics TA? Apparently Rory gets a crush-at-first-sight on the TA and spends the episode mooning about both men.  When she tells Logan, he is perfectly wonderful again (and again his hair is looking great) and the two are stronger than ever.  Now either he’s going to lose all his money and their relationship is going to go kaput or they are going to get married. Who knows at this point!
In other news around the town, Richard is recuperating very well it seems.  He is up and walking and talking and all is back to normal.  Lane and her huge belly are absent but for a brief appearance by Zach who did not mention the twins.  Michel’s dog Chin Chin died an unexplained and early death and we got to see him throw a fit for the entire episode about the pup’s funeral. Why Paul Anka did not attend must be a behind-the-scenes political thing.
Overall, not a shocking episode, but very well done by Lauren Graham.  Watching her face fall and her eyes search during the discussions with Christopher made it this watcher feel that much more for her—and bravo to Rory for subtly telling her mom that no matter what, she is on Lorelai’s side. Good to know that there won’t be any drama from Rory when she finds out about the breakup.

Why are they going to break up in almost the last episode? this is so crazy. I don’t care what people think but I like Rory, and Logan together. I know he can be a big jerk, but come on. How can you build a relationship up, and then just destroy it like that. I just want to say to the writers that you are losing a fan right here ,and that this is making me very mad. All through the whole season all I wanted is for them to be together. When I see them break up it will destroy me to pieces. I know you dont care what I say, but plaese dont break them up. I know you can’t make everyone happy, but come on. You can’t do this to me.Please I just want them to be together ,and live happiley together. PLEASE AMY.
