Breast Cancer Returns

Elizabeth Edwards is in a brave new battle, with an old cancer, that’s now moved into her bones. My own mother went down this road with breast cancer. Sadly it was more than a decade ago, when the drugs weren’t as powerful, and the odds weren’t as encouraging. And my mom didn’t make it.
But doctors are telling Elizabeth Edwards, there’s a 25 percent chance she’s going to be around in five years. And when you’re faced with breast cancer that’s spread, those are odds worth banking on, if you’re going to survive.
When you’ve been touched by cancer as I have, it’s almost instinctive to immediately get behind the person who’s facing a battle for their life. I’m certainly in Elizabeth Edwards corner tonight… wishing her many happy years with her husband and children.
