Facebook friend number 400 is Trish Cone.  I’m sending her a TheRibbit.com t-shirt!

It’s great to see these connections online growing.

There is something magical about Facebook and many of the other social networking websites.

You plug in all your basic info and suddenly you are hooked up with friends from high school, college, former jobs.  People in your life you lost contact with.  The younger folks are already hooked up to their crowd, but we older folks are starting to dip our toes into those social waters - and we are LOVING IT!

Huge thanks to everyone who’s hooked up with me online on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and the dozens of other sites where I am active, keeping you posted about our blogs, live chat topics and breaking news.

Send me a request.  Would love to connect online with you too!

And we’re looking for your cool original pictures that are just begging for a caption.  I’m going to start a photo caption contest in my blog, if I can get enough cool pictures in from you.  We’ll call it Caption This! I’ll send you a t-shirt if I pick your picture to feature!

I would love to have an elaborate Facebook page - I JUST DON’T HAVE TIME!!!  I love the idea about the photos, though!  How do we send them, and what do they need to be of?

Great question Linda…

Pics that you wish there was a comic book bubble with words expressing exactly what you think the people in that pic would be saying, or pics that are just screaming for a creative title.

They need to be on the fun side.  Not just beauty shots.

Email them awood@wspa.com.

Myspace is for preteens and perverts. I canceled my accounts as I am neither of the two.

Now that Facebook has opened up to the non-collegiate it has become overly commercial. API after API for everything. I don’t want a super-wall. The wall I have is fine, so stop sending me super-wall posts! And - the *new* facebook is so freakin’ slow!

Twitter is starting to get its act together it seems. We haven’t seen a major outage in a while, but now that I’ve said that they’ll probably have their biggest outage yet sometime soon.

I think the ones with the most potential are the GPS centric social networks like BrightKite.

So - now that I think about it, I spend way to much time online, so I’m out…

LOL Thanks Steven.  Tell me how you really feel!

A friend asked me to join Facebook (along with several other friends) because she was preparing to move and she wanted to keep in touch with everyone more easily. After joining, I found Several people I knew ... locally (mostly from our church) as well as from High School and other places. Now I am addicted!  lol

My “main addiction” in this department, however, is my CafeMom groups.  That is so totally different than anything else I have come across. This site has served me well in many areas from entertainment to support from other mothers concerning multiple topics.
