Job Hunting on the Web

By Amy Wood
Friday, January 05, 2007

Monster.com reports job hunting on the net is slow in December.  It’s not the best time to hook up with potential employers on line or in the real world for that matter.

The number of job listings on line fell 10 percent in December according to Monster.com.

But as spring approaches the job scene gets rosier on line.

So have you used the web to land a job?  Tell us how it worked for you.

I’ll see you on Your CW News at Ten.

Job Hunting ~ I have used just about all the online job tools such as Career Builder, Monster, and USAjobs.com. I think I only landed one job and then that was only a temp job through a temo service…

Job hunting online and offline traditionally slows down in December. This has been a regular trend before the introduction of the web. The buzz of the holidays always softens the employment rush, even among those that need jobs the most.

This trend does a complete turn around in January, especially as folks look to the new year for change, resolutions, new starts, etc.

I tried it for a while and now I’m self-employed and never been happier! ;)

Let’s hope those January trends play out for folks still looking for work in 2007.  Patrick how great to be self employed! Do you hire people or get prospects using the net?
