Lipstick Wars BLOGPOLL

By Amy Wood
Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Barrack Obama’s lipstick comment Tuesday is major talk on the internet.  Sarah Palin in her national debut, brought the house down, saying that the only difference between hockey moms and pit bulls is lipstick.  Then Obama yesterday says this…

The McCain campaign is taking it personally.  They think between the comment and the audience reaction Obama was talking about Palin.  And they released a video on the web within hours of the controversy surfacing. Now video has surfaced of McCain using same statement in past.

So what do you think?

Was Obama talking about Sarah Palin, when he made his lipstick remark?  Vote in the BLOGPOLL and post your comments below.

Come on!  We would all have to be stupid to think Obama wasn’t talking about Sarah Palin ...His ‘followers’ knew it, too - hence the hollars, cheers, rooh roohs….

BUT WHO CARES!!!!!  They are getting ridiculous.  I hope, that in my life time, I can see a presidential race where the candidates are running on their own merits and not on their competitor’s downfalls!

Even though that phrase has been used by many the fact that Obama chose to use it so soon after Palin’s speech and his other sexist remarks tells me just what he meant. Listen to how the crowd cheered as he paused at the begining. They knew where he was going with that. It reminds me of my son pointing his finger 1/2 inch from his sisters face yelling ” I’m not touching her!”. Obama insults in a way that he can deny it later. We know he is running scared, but enough with the childish insults.

Does Obama think we are that stupid? He can say what he wants, but the Americans that are not brainwashed by this idiot can read right through him. The Dem’s are trembling at this point and it shows when they shoot at the VP candidate and not the Presidential candidate. Who is running against Obama anyway, Palin or McCain?

Yes, Obama was definitely comparing her to a pig.  If he truly did not mean it, he could have easily realized what he had said once the crowd erupted.  Bill Clinton mentioned that he pulled the race card on them during the primaries.  Now, it’s obvious that he is a sexist as well.  In my opinioin, the more he attacks Palin the more likely he will lose the election.

Obama wasn’t even thinking about Sarah Palin.  The election is between McCain and him.  He was discussing McCain’s policies.  This is just another example of how the Republicans try to keep crucial issues on the sideboard because they have created one crisis after another.  They have no agendas and no ideas.  If McCain is a “reformer” or if he wants to put this country first why didn’t he select a more relevant running mate such as Olympia Snow or Chuck Haigle.  Obama used the good judgement in selecting Joe Biden who is a true example of a public servant.  If the lipstick comment is an issue now why wasn’t it an issue when applied to Hillary Clinton?  More importantly why is it even on the radar of the press?

WOW!!!!!!!  It is amazing how divided the country is with this election. I don’t think he was talking about her, many political figures use this phrase to talk about other candidates policies(including McCain and Cheney).  I am supporting Obama and would like to know how horrible will the lives be of the people who despise him if he is elected and how great their lives will be if McCain is elected?

Linda Linda | September 11, 2008 at 10:08 am

In response to Kalon, life is going to be miserable no matter who wins this election.  Both the candidates are horrible and I hate to have to ‘pull the lever’ for either.  I think the lesser of the evils would be McCain, but he is still not a good choice.  Although, the addition of Palin to the ticket did make me feel just a little better voting for McCain.  What are we as Americans doing??  The last 2 elections have had absolutely horrible choices for president!  Personally, I am not a republican or democrat - I vote for whomever seems more competent.  I would have been happy voting for Huckabee (because of his values) or Hillary (because of her experience.)

I don’t think he was talking about her.  However, if you’re running for VP, you’re going to be the butt of jokes and you may as well get used to it.  She’ll be at the receiving end of more jokes because of the response to this.  The smart thing to do would have been to ignore it.  All this squabble makes the Republicans look thin-skinned & unable to take what they dished out.  They’ve been making fun of Obama’s good looks and middle name for months.  If you can pick on ethnic names without being racist and handsome people without being ugly, you can make lipstick jokes without being a sexist.  Let’s apply the same standard at least, if not the same cosmetics.

OH MY GOODNESS, ANNETTE!  Obama and his camp have been whinning about remarks all along (and actually you are right now in your blog..)So why do they carry on about McCain and Palin whinning about the remark? Remember how Obama whinned about the ‘famous, superstar’ commercial???

If these are the only 2 choices we have for our leader….If they can’t deal with remarks from each other any better, how in the world are they going to deal with remarks from terrorist or North Korea, or Russia?  We all better get on our knees and pray that the Good Lord miraculously sends someone else to be our next president.

This is all so rediculous. i don’t like any of them. I always go with my instints because so far, over many years, it’s been 100% right. and if obama or mccain get into office, this country is in trouble. and as you all know, the main stream news never give other partys the time of day on there shows. we need to start looking at the other partys. start helping them if you find one you like by spreading there message, because all they have is foot, mouth and computer power to get anything out to the people.
