It feels almost un-American to avoid watching the summer Olympics! So I don’t. Even though I anchor on a CW and CBS affiliate and the games are on that “other channel,” I can’t boycot what is capitvating so many..
Some of my viewers are so loyal to my LIVE CHAT during Your CW News at Ten that they are doing both! Last night live chatters caught much of my news segment and then dipped into swimmer Michael Phelps in action, going for the GOLD.

Pretty neat to see a world record play out in CW LIVE CHAT like this.
So does the CBS and CW anchor get to catch any Olmypic action while stuck in the studio between the 10 and 11 pm shows? Here’s your answer….
Does a CBS affiliated anchor get to watch Olympics? on 12seconds.tv

I’ll bet this violates the “accounts and descriptions” rule. The Olympics police are craaaazy like that.
So the Olympics are supposed to transcend all religious and political ties, but not network affiliations? Defend yourself by saying you were “transcended.”
Don’t feel alone, Amy. I don’t watch the Olympics…Just don’t like ‘em. If they can’t include my favorite sport, I guess I will boycott. Guess the good ‘ol boys of NASCAR are not ‘international’ enough for the Olympics. I hear baseball is next on the ‘not appealing enough to the world’list.
I just hate to miss a minute of Live Chat….but I had to watch this clean cut young man make history with his unbelievable swimming speed. Not all of our American athletes are setting world records, but more importantly they are setting examples and standards for my grandchildren who are just starting to participate on swim teams and gymnastics. Even with the American team of girl’s gymnastics slips and falls, young girls back home saw them get back up and bravely try again and complete their routines with dignity and American pride.
On the day after Russia and Georgia went at each other’s throats with machine guns, an athlete from Russia and one from Georgia embrace each other on the award stand. Now, THAT is what the Olympics are all about. That is why I watch and the stories of these athletes are so inspiring and encouraging. I can’t imagine not watching and knowing these experiences.
Can’t agree with you all more!
What I am saying is… when working.. I can’t watch. After work… well you know!
