Gilmore Girls: Mean and Judgemental

For my first ever Gilmore Girls blog, I’m going to jump right in—meaning I won’t wax nostalgic about the much-missed creators of the show and their terrifically difficult dialogue—and instead I will talk about, or in the spirit of tonight’s show, make judgements about the episode.
So Lorelai and Christopher come back from Paris and focus on telling Rory about their marriage. I’m not a fan of Lorelai running into a marriage with Christopher—after all, he’s proven himself to be a stable influence for like, what, 2 weeks?? These two don’t have a good history, and at this point I’m wondering a) why would they move into Lorelai’s house when Chris is Mr. Moneybags, b) how long exactly is Gigi going to be chilling out with her mom in Paris because I am not looking forward to the dibbin’s return and consequent screen time and c) where the heck is Paul Anka?
Meanwhile, Rory spends the entire episode being hateful…which as far as Rory goes, is pretty much one of her 3 modes of existence. Still, the girl has great hair and usually lands cute men, so we can remain on friendly terms. She is upset that her mom and dad got married (although we don’t really know why,) she is still hating on Bobbie and her long legs, and then, interestingly enough for a girl with not only rich grandparents but a rich fatherand boyfriend—she hates on the rich kids at Logan’s launch party. Logan calls her on it—telling her that she is exactly like the people at the party—she went to prep school, she goes to Yale, and she is living in her boyfriend’s swank apartment. In the end, Rory seems to see the light, but does say that she is going to move out, and the two kiss and make up.
And, I’m sorry, but in the insanely boring plot that is Luke and April, there is kissing (or should we say juggling ? discussed, and an appendix removed. April’s illness causes Luke to call Lorelai (since when are they on friendly speaking terms?) and when Lorelai shows up at the hospital, Luke sees her wedding ring. There is no reaction really at this time, but from the upcoming previews I see some excellent fighting between Chris and Luke coming up.
Lastly, Lorelai has a mini-monologue about her marriage to Christopher being right. I’m not sure if I believe it, but we shall see. Hopefully we will also see more of Marty, Sookie, and maybe at least a glimpse of Paul Anka so we know he’s alive.

COMMENTS
I agree completely with “what the heck is a 2-week relationship already sewing the seeds of marriage??!”
Yes, I want to witness some slugfest WWE type action between Luke and Chris.
I was wondering the same thing about Paul Anka.
I was thoroughly disappointed that the previews to last week’s episode showed the two men about to throw down…and then it never happened! and all I can say is bring back Jesse…the show has never been the same.
