By Amy Wood

In Texas, they’re talking about giving prisoner’s free condoms. Supporters say it will curb the rising rate of HIV infection in prison. But opponents say it sends the message that sex in prison is okay. So what are your thoughts. Sound off below. I’ll see you on Your CW News at Ten.

Do you want the prisoners to NOT be given condoms, given the propensity for self-control they have already shown.
Convicted felons should not be given condoms. Sex outside of marriage is illegal in most states. Inmates who perform illegal acts while incarcerated may contact HIV - that proves their illegal act. They should not be treated for HIV at tax-payors expense. Those who contact HIV while in prison, must be isolated from other inmates. To do otherwise supports or advocates homosexuality.
prisoners should get condoms because we not not stop them from having sex. if they engage in sex they should be some kind of safety to curb HIV/AIDS. Remember some will be free someday and they Will go back to having heterosexual sex.
I don’t even know where to start. In Kentucky, it’s illegal to carry an ice cream cone in your pocket, but I don’t think it’s enforced. Have nursing babies who get HIV from their infected mothers proved that they commited an illegal act? Would it be everybody’s preference if anybody who ever sins faces swift and certain death? If so, we’re all good for about another half an hour. People have sex, especially when they don’t have anything else to do, with or without permission. If we have to pay for the resulting diseases and pay for the resulting children (some prisons offer conjugal visits) and pay for the fact that the children have poor role models and eventually choose the same behaviors they’ve seen, why on earth wouldn’t we just save ourselves a whole lot of money and pay for the condoms? If you want to change a person’s behavior, you first have to change that person’s heart, and you don’t do that by waiting till the most stressful moment of their lives and announcing, “NOW I want you to be perfect.”
well, I use to be a correctional officer and if they were given condoms that would be condoning homosexuality for one, and also be against the SCDC rules.
Questions for David-First of all, has anybody ever asked you if they could have sex unless they were asking you to do it? I haven’t had that happen and I don’t know anyone who has. It’s just not one of those things that people tend to ask about first, and if it’s going to happen with or without your approval, then why would you care whether or not they suddenly seem to have your approval? They don’t. Secondly-Which is against the rules-sex or condoms or both? I’m not being sarcastic. I couldn’t figure it out from your comment.
