“I’m dying but I’m having fun,” Randy Pausch
He gave his last lecture, a tradition for college proffs much older than Randy, more than a year ago when 10 tumors were eating up his body with cancer. When Steve Hartman reported the story on CBS he said cancer was spreading, but hadn’t spread to Randy’s sense of humor or his love of life.
In that last lecture Randy taught his students and the rest of us how to live. That lecture was posted on the internet and millions have seen it. You might have seen him on Oprah. I read the article written about him in Readers Digest. Magazine after magazine featured his inspirational story. In case you missed it, I want to give you the opportunity to see it here.
He died today at the age of 47, leaving behind a wife and three precious children. And a tremendous legacy, caught on tape just for his kids. On his website he said that’s why he did it.
He told Steve Hartman, “I don’t want to go and I don’t like having to go, I like living.” But he didn’t let that get in the way of living to the fullest, every moment he was given.

COMMENTS
This man led an extraordinary life in his last days. Who among us would be so brave and gallant that we would think about making things good for our family? This man touched me when he said that he was spending his last days making sure that everything would be settled and great for his wife and kids. No crying or pity parties, just total concern for those left behind! What a testimony to go out with!
