An upstate lawmaker wants to get tough on school employees who sexually assault minors. Scott Talley of Spartanburg, says he’s seen 4 cases in 12 months in District Six, where his children will one day go to school. Is it not already a crime to commit sex acts with children?
I meant is it not already a felony? And if not, why should the legislation be limited to school employees? Why not include people in general?
Mindctrl makes a wonderful point. No matter what type of assault you commit, the sentence is longer if the victim is an adult. I’ve always thought this was backwards.
