Greenville County wants to eliminate the junk and sweets and make meals more nutritious.  And they want the junk out of the vending machines too.  Plus teachers who used to moitivate kids with a sweet treat would have to re-think their tactics.  What do you think?  Let us know below. I’ll see you on Your CW News at Ten.

Can you say “Nanny State.”

Nutritious meals should be served at school, wether it is brought from home or purchased at school. Having access to a vending machine is not a big deal. It’s not up to the school board to decide if vending machines are allowed, it’s the parents responsibilty. Teach your kids to eat well and limit junk food. The parents need to raise the kids, not the school or the school board.

There were vending machines at my high school when I was there.  It’s no big deal.  Even the food in the cafeteria was good.  It is up to the students and their families to decide what to eat.  The school board may have good intentions, but let it be a choice, not a rule.
