The Art of Making Friends

This episode marked the beginning of Lorelai and Christopher’s dating. They basically went on a few movie dates and smooched but Lorelai wouldn’t take it further—yet. Despite the warnings from her daughter and Sookie to be careful with her heart, Lorelai seems to feel that her new-again relationship with Christopher is going really well.
Rory on the other hand, is not doing as well. She is stuck in a voice-mail relationship with Logan, and since Paris is busy following Doyle’s career at the Hartford Gazette, she has no friends with which to spend her free time. She meets two interesting girls at an art show (one of whom is in a weird, Britney spears short baby doll dress) and they hit it off. The girls come back to her/Logan’s apartment and when Logan calls, Rory tells him that she will have to call him back. Weird that she only has time for him when she doesn’t have anything else to do…
The other key moment in this episode is Emily getting arrested for a suspected DUI. She did come off a bit more shrill and difficult than usual (how many times can a woman say unacceptable?) so I can see how the officer might think she was drunk. or crazy. or drunk. Christopher and Lorelai interrupt their movie-on-a-barn date to pick her up, and Lorelai considers the night such a success that in the end she invites Christopher in, and we all know what that leads to….
