Top Model: Natural Beauty

I have to admit the editors tried to keep us on our toes this week.  They highlighted several girls, so it was hard to figure out who the bottom two were.  At the middle, I was thinking Samantha and Marjorie.  By the end, though, I was concerned for Clark and Joslyn.

Okay, last week Hannah got all snappy and this week it was Samantha.  She was pretty hard on Marjorie - it’s not like she’s never complained and worried.  However, I will admit that Marjorie was annoying this week, so it would have to be hard to live with that 24/7.  She seemed better by the end and even looked pretty confident and in control at panel.  Hopefully, she’s over her little episode, especially since she got good remarks on her photo.  She’s a little different, but seems sweet.  Oh, and I had forgotten that she was originally from France.

Speaking of which, I will withhold my comments about what she said about her parents being from France, “so they always focused on the negative.”

Paulina and her smart remarks are getting on my last nerve.  Calling Sheena the “resident sex pot?”  I totally would have called her on that if I was Sheena.  She did well to hold herself back.  On that note, Sheena seems to be slowly losing her spunk.  I fully expect the panel to remark on that in the next few weeks and probably eliminate her for it.  Sometimes they are so contradictory.

The challenge?  A bag full of duct tape, water bottles, cans, binder clips, hair clips, etc?  Haven’t these people ever heard of safety pins?  (McKey won, but her pants looked ridiculous.) And what do you do if the clothes are too tight?  I guess they could never imagine that, could they?  Yes, I am rolling my eyes.  By the way, Paulina harped a lot on Samantha’s shorts, but her top looked great and I thought she did a good job improvising on that.

I don’t care how much they try to say a traffic jam is a natural disaster.  It’s not.  They couldn’t have come up with one more natural disaster without resorting to that?  What about a hurricane?  Yes, I know they don’t have hurricanes in L.A., but somehow I don’t think there’s a lot of sand blowing around between the skyscrapers either and there hasn’t been snow in L.A. since 1962 (and that wouldn’t have qualified as a “snowstorm”).

Loved the 60’s fashion on the photo shoot, although I’m not sure what it had to do with natural disasters. Clark looked the best, although it didn’t help her, I guess.  Lauren Brie looks so different in pictures than she does in person.  She reminded me a lot of Melissa Joan Hart in her photo shoot this week.  Then I realized that she pretty much looks like MJH anyway.  She pulled out the “Whitney mouth” in her chosen photo this week.

I was sad when it came down to Clark and Joslyn, because I didn’t want either to go home.  I’m kind of glad it was Clark and not Joslyn, but I wanted the South Carolina girl to go further.  I hope Joslyn really pulls through next week because she’s my favorite, I think.  And I didn’t think Samantha deserved first this week, but whatever.

Next week, the girls have one-on-one photo shoots with Tyra, some start to question their drive in the competition, and the main photo shoot is about awards show blunders.  That should be fun!  See ya next week!
