Top Model: The Girl Who Becomes America’s Next Top Model

So here we are!  After nearly two months of catwalking and catfighting, we are down to the final three!  I kept saying to myself that if Natasha was the first to be eliminated, I didn’t care who won, but after Renee said something about Natasha walking like a pigeon or something like that, I figured I’d rather it be Jaslene than her.

The judges, photographers and designers all kept saying during the competition that Renee looks old.  I just realized the other day that she’s only 20, but she looks more like 30.  Maybe it’s all that Hawaiian sun or something.  SPF 30, kids!  SPF30!  I’ve had sun poisoning a few times.  It’s not fun.  Once my face swelled up to the point that I was unrecognizable.  It’s not really relevant, I guess, but I thought I’d throw that in as an advertisement for sunscreen.

I have to admit I was happy when Renee was eliminated.  I just still don’t think she’s a very nice person.  She sounded really bitter after she was sent home.  It seemed she and Jaslene were so close there at the end - I wonder how Jaslene felt when Renee took Natasha’s face in her hands and said, “Win this for the mamas.”  And after the way she had treated Natasha.  That girl is hard to figure out.

I thought both girls did well in the runway show.  Natasha’s skirt falling off was really funny.  It reminded me of when I was in an Easter musical at my church and one of the Roman soldiers lost his skirt.  I thought she handled it really well, though, and just kept going.

You all know that I wanted Natasha to win, but in the end, something told me it was going to be Jaslene.  One reason is that nearly every time it has come to the final two, the girl I want to win doesn’t.  The exception was Caridee beating Melrose.  I wanted Shannon over Adrianne, Mercedes over Yoanna, Yaya over Eva, Kahlen over Naima, Nik over Nicole, and Joanie over Danielle (although I really liked Danielle, too, so I wasn’t that disappointed).  I thought Cycle 7 broke the streak for me, but I guess I’m starting another one.  All in all, it wasn’t a great night for me anyway, what with Melinda getting voted off and the Braves losing.

This cycle has been fun and I think they had an interesting group of girls.  From Renee’s backbiting to Jael’s quirky behavior to Brittany’s tantrum to Natasha’s phone conversations, the Top Model editors made it interesting for us.  And I think Jaslene will be very successful in the modeling industry.  It’s been fun blogging with you guys and I hope you’ll join me again for the next cycle.  Have a great summer!
