With this being a recap episode, I guess there’s not a whole lot to say, but they did have some “never-before-seen” footage that I thought was pretty interesting.
I loved the part they showed at the beginning where four of the girls dressed as their “opposite.” Natasha was hilarious as the black girl and Kathleen was great as the white girl, but Cassandra stole the show. Her Russian alter-ego, Ivonika, was hysterical! “Ears open, mouth shut.” It made me think of when Cassandra imitated Kathleen and Natasha in the first episode. She’s really good at that kind of thing and should really look into acting or improv comedy.
This show made me really miss Kathleen. I liked her and wished she could have gone farther. Would’ve loved to see her makeover. Plus, she’s just so funny! “I know, riiight!”
I saw some things about Jael that kind of made me see why Renee didn’t like her very much. She’s funny for a while, but I could see how living with her would get a little old. I didn’t realize till now that Renee actually shared a room with her until Jael got to be too much to take. Renee called her a “female Kramer.” (Guess this was taped before the whole comedy club fiasco.)
I also started missing Cassandra while watching this episode. She seems like the kind of girl I’d be friends with. Funny, smart, good listener, and just an all-around great person. I can see why everybody was so sad when she left. Wish she could have stuck around longer than some of the others.
Watching Jael hula-hoop all the time made me jealous. I’ve never been able to hula-hoop. (I can’t work a yo-yo or saran wrap either, but that’s a different subject.) Once I was visiting a children’s shelter and a little girl of about six or seven tried to teach me how to do it. Even she got frustrated. My hula-hooping exasperates children.
I never knew Dionne could be so nasty until now. She and Renee really got into it, but it seemed like she kept going off even after Renee tried to calm down and step away. I guess that makes it even more surprising that Renee picked Dionne to share her prize when she won the acting challenge.
The worst part of this episode was seeing their disgusting bathroom. At least Renee and Natasha had the wherewithal to clean it up, but that bathroom was horrible. If there’s anything I hate worse than a nasty kitchen, it’s a nasty bathroom. (Which, I guess, really makes no sense since you eat in a kitchen and…well, you know… in a bathroom.)
All in all, this was a pretty revealing episode, as far as showing us some stuff we’d never seen before. (Who knew that Cassandra and Natasha had medical emergencies?) But the recap part of it was pretty redundant. It was good to see a few of the girls who’ve gotten sent home, though. Next week is all new and we’re getting close to the May 16th finale! Now I have to go practice my hula-hooping.
