Okay, seriously. The cheesiness has to stop. Tyra is just starting to look embarrassing. And the fact that the other grown adults on this show are participants?
Tyra as Snow White?
Miss J as the Evil Queen/Old Lady with the apple?
Jay as the Prince?
And then Tyra in the magic mirror in the corner describing each girl’s makeover?
Too. Much.
Enough.
Okay, so now that rant is over. Most of the makeovers were good, although I had a few interjectory comments as I watched. Why does Tyra always give the palest girls platinum blonde hair to make them look even paler? Although it does look good with Lauren Brie’s eyes and her picture was amazing for the second week in a row. At first, I didn’t like Elina’s hair, but once she went back to the house and fixed it herself, it looked much better. And, again, her picture was great, too. McKey’s hair looked great with her strong face. I thought Brittany, Isis, and Joslyn’s makeovers looked too much alike. Long, wavy extensions. Tyra could have been a little more creative there. Although they did all look good. I’m not sure about dark hair on Clark.
Poor Brittany doesn’t want to be thought of as “pretty.” I can understand her dilemma in the modeling world, but my first reaction was “Boo. Hoo.” There are worst things than being pretty. She just needs to use it to her advantage instead of seeing it as a liability. But I guess she won’t get that chance in this particular competition.
I was glad Analeigh made it, but I really thought she’d be gone. The editors are back to their usual tricks, because I pretty much knew within about 10 minutes who the bottom two were.
On a side note, I like these new segments where they show what past ANTM contestants are doing. And yea for Lisa!! She seems to be doing great in the modeling world! She totally should have won Cycle 9. (But if you read my blogs from that cycle, you know how much I loved her.)
On the positive side for Tyra, I’m so glad she told the story of how, instead of losing weight like some people told her to when her body started changing in her early 20’s, she just changed the way she marketed herself. And I love that when that happened, her mom told her they were going to have a pizza party. Tyra’s mom is so obviously awesome.
So Brittany’s gone and next week they are apparently doing runway walking in a bowling alley. Wal-Mart. Bowling alley. Hmmm… Anyway, there also looks to be an extra elimination as a girl will be going home after the challenge. *Gasp!* Meet me back here next week. Same catwalk time… Same catwalk channel.
