Veterans Assistance

Veterans who put their lives on the line, deserve the absolute best our government has to offer. But there’s been plenty of national coverage lately showing they aren’t getting what they deserve. So what experiences are our local veterans having? Share your story below. And let us know what you think of the support and care our veterans are receiving. I’ll see you on Your CW News at Ten.

Combat veterans deserve the best we can give them including guarantees in writing. Non-combatants also deserve some form of reward because they do not necessarily select their duty location. One thing veterans do not deserve is a guarantee of free drugs for life to support a drug-habit where ever it was acquired: combat, hospital, etc. Far too many American Veterans get dangerous drugs just for the asking at VA hospitals and many with minor disabilities (10%) work themselves up to 100% in time, including drugs - this includes one of my children. I abhor the fact that she scammed herself into 100% disability and gets so much money each month plus so many drugs from her VA hospital connections. She has served more time in jail than she ever did in the service but always runs to the VA when released from jail or some institution for free guaranteed “help,” which always includes “hard drugs for her pain.” And, she never served anywhere during any war and was never in combat.
I served 2y and 22 days overseas during one war and have never asked the VA for anything.
Lets clean up the VA, get the deadbeats off the public payroll and provide services to the Vets who deserve our help!
