Ware Shoals Cheer Coach Controversy

By Amy Wood
Thursday, January 25, 2007

The mess in Ware Shoals got messier when the Principal was arrested.

Investigators tell us she held a meeting with the cheerleaders and tried to obstruct justice.  Jill Moore, was the varsity cheerleading coach at Ware Shoals High.  Authorities accused her of partying with students, checking them out of school, and putting some of them in inappropriate situations, regarding a sexual relationship Moore was having.

Now the principal Jane Blackwell is facing charges, for trying to cover up some of what’s gone on, during a meeting with Moore’s cheerleaders.

So what do you think about people trusted with the safety and wellbeing of students, facing these kind of charges?  Join the conversation below. And thanks for watching.  I’ll see you at Ten on the CW.

As a High School Senior this year at Ware Shoals, the recent events that have taken place have showed alot of attention to Ware Shoals. As humans, I personally believe I should not judge the individuals that are involved but to let the court system handle that. I just wished that with all the things going on, people would realize that there are students at this school and we are under an extreme amount of stress dealing from schoolwork to how we are thrown into the limelight in the media. There’s alot of stress that us as students are handling right now and I think that some people have not realized that.

This Ware Shoals seems like a troubling situation.  But, please don’t judge her until all the facts are in and the courts have ruled.

Wow!!!!! I just can’t really believe that this is all happening in Ware Shoals. I am a graduate of Ware Shoals High class of 2006 and this is a great shock to me. Jane Blackwell was my principal and Jill Moore was my cheerleading coach, so it just shocks me that people i knew and were close to are involved in these horrible situations. No one really doesn’t know about ware shoals and it sure is sad that now ware shoals is getting noticed and attention in the wrong way!!

Also to add to my previous comments, it worries me that because of these recent events, people from outside of the community will look at Ware Shoals in a manner of unattentivness and corrupt instead of realizing that even though events possibly took place, there are great faculty, staff, & students who are involved with the district.

stuff like this has been going on sence time has began. and for what it’s worth it’s not the first time for Ware Shoals, and it will not be the last. they just had the misfourtune to be caught.

if none of the partys invloved had money, or had family involved in politics, then NOTHING WOULD HAVE BEEN SAID, about it this time as well!
