I think that teachers should be held responsible in addition to principals.  Even though many teachers take continuing education classes, all should have to take them & all teachers should also have to take state exams every 5-10 years.  I think that parental support should be given weight when dismissing a principal.  It isn’t always their fault, nor is it always the fault of the parents or teachers.  Many times, parents aren’t encouraged to get involved or contacted by the school system & kids just don’t alwys tell parents everything they need to know.

The principal of any school has to answer to a higher authority.  If the shcool is in a failing condition, then the principal is mainly responsible.  The principal has an obligation to look out for the school’s condition.  If changes need to be made, then the principal needs to make the changes so the school will be better.

But what about the situation when the principal has done everything under her power, along side the help of ‘specialists’ that the state and district have provided, and still the students’ tests score don’t go up?  Or actually they did, but the district decided that the school couldn’t use that plan anymore, because it was unfair to the other schools in the district weren’t using the same system?  How is that fair to the principal?  And how when the state sends a team of ‘qualified specialists’ to see if the school is doing everything they possible can to help the students say that everything is going great, and the students STILL don’t improve scores?  How is that the principal’s fault?  Or the teachers on that matter, who according to superindendant aren’t qualified, although they all have teaching certifications within their subject area given by the state?  So, please bring in another principal who will spend nights at the school, take students home after a concert in the most ghettoists of neighborhoods, who can make teachers turn in lesson plans every week and deal with the grumblings of the staff, try to make sure the students are feed, wearing warm clothes for winter, encourage the students to do their best on their tests, make sure that teachers are teaching with a hundred different strategies to ensure that ALL students are learning the standards, AND deal with a district who’s lines are drawn to where the all poverty neighborhoods are to go to the school, even though there is a school that some students can walk to from home…  BRING IT ON!!!!

The Mrs.Jones is not fully responsible for how the kids act at the school or how there PACT scores are, the teachers should be more strict on the kids and the kids should act more mature and since I am a student at whitlock I know how the students act and exactly why they make all of the lower grades they make. If the kids would actually study sometimes then Mrs.Jones would not be accused of the students actions. I hope people actually realize shes just a regular person trying to control over 400 kids and she needs help sometimes I hope you parents hear this.
