It's New, It's Happening, It's NOW. Introducing the Upstate's newest lifestyle show Carolina NOW featuring Megan Heidlberg.
Airing weekdays at 11am, this new show focuses on lifestyles in the Upstate. It takes a fresh new look at what's happening now. "It's the ultimate yellow highlighter on what has the Carolina's talking," said Megan. "As a hometown girl I have a unique perspective on what really gets us talking. With the distinct pleasure of growing up and within these diverse and socially savvy communities, you can only imagine my excitement when I was asked to host this new show. I want to show us off; the trendy, the fabulous, the real hot and happening Carolinas I know and love.
Megan Heidlberg, host of Carolina NOW and occasional host of Scene on 7, began her television career ten years ago at WSPA's sister station in Northeast Georgia, WNEG. She servered as anchor of the 6,7 and 11 p.m. newscasts until coming to the Upstate to help launch Your Carolina with Jack and Kimberly as producer of the show. Under her watch the show grew from 30 minutes to one hour. She's no stranger to the camera, as she often hosts alongside Jack Roper and Kimberly Kelly. Megan can also be seen across the region as a frequent MC/host of community events and as commercial television talent.
Growing up in a family of broadcasters, Megan was a natural for her chosen profession. Her parents worked in radio and television throughout her childhood. Megan's career actually started at age three when she began doing radio commercial voice-overs.
An alumnus of Greenville High School, Megan graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Mass Communications. while there, she anchored and reported news and sports on the university's TV and radio stations. She and her husband, Jeff are proud Gamecock supporters and look forward to football season all year. Since the birth of the their soon in December 2008 they've been showing him the Gamecock ways and love seeing things through a kid's eyes.
She loves athletics having high school and college basketball. Megan continues to stay active in sports, playing basketball and softball with Buncombe Street United Methodist Church.
Megan is amazed at the constantly emerging and innovative community that she has always called home. In her opinion, the best part of her job is the opportunity to connect with the people that make the Upstate such an exciting place to live and to experience all it has to offer.
