Yea pretty crazy. Where was the Secret Service during this dastardly shoe attack? Doesnt matter what you think about the guy, clearly the Secret Service was sleeping on the job what if he had a gun, or grenade, or knife or any other things. Second thought, GDUB has some pretty good reflexes.

Hillarious, but scary! WHy wasn’t he protected? Sandi Caton at 6:51am December 15
They came out in droves and by the time they got to him he was on the ground. You don’t always see them, but they are there.
Linda Bright Whelchel at 6:55am December 15
That is what the secret service is for…They are supposed to always be expecting..What if it had been something deadly?
Kerin Hannah at 7:02am December 15
That was just wonderful…someone should have done that to him a long time ago!!
Beth LeMay Beutler at 7:15am December 15
Surprised SS didn’t have the guy down when he first stepped up and held up the first shoe.
Bonnie Stephens Kay at 8:29am December 15
Honestly, who throws a shoe - sorry to quote Austin Powers but really? It is bizarre, to say the least..
Gayle Stewart at 8:35am December 15
In Muslim countries, it is the biggest insult to show someone the sole of your shoe. I guess this guy didn’t want Mr Bush to miss his soles flying by his head! LOL!!
Dwight P Garner at 8:42am December 15
just think , we are worrying about guns and other deadly things forgot all about shoes! Katrina Kaplin at 9:41am December 15
I’m impressed with reflexes…he moved quick!
Angel Tucker at 10:06am December 15
Where was the Secret Service flying through the air to protect the President? That could have been a shoe bomb!!
Dan Bracken at 10:07am December 15
Would this have been possible under the Hussein regime? What would have happened to this guy back then?
Crystal Rodriguez at 10:24am December 15
I feel so sorry for Bush, He went in office and did what we all elected him to do. We all must admitt that we wanted him to go over there and kick a** after 9/11. Most all of us couldnt have predicted what would happen to our economy. Bush and his family are in my continued prayers. How would we all feel if we thought that most of the WORLD hated us and the other half wanted us dead.
Ken Okel at 10:55am December 15
I have to admit that the President has good reflexes. What a surreal moment.
Linda Bright Whelchel at 11:33am December 15
Hold on there Crystal WE didn’t elect him - Y’all did! The choice for president that election cycle was so poor that I voted for every office BUT president…No way was I going to help put Bush back in for another term, and I sure wan’t going to help put liberal Kerry in! I, as well as a bunch of other people, thought that Iraq was a terrible ... mistake..Bush had a personal vendetta against Iraq and Hussain and wanted to carry that out! Hussain had nothing to with 9/11…Yes, we all have the obligation to pray for Bush, but not to like him or what he stands for…Bush made his bed, along with all of ours..Now it is time for him to lay in it ...Shoes and all!
Crystal Rodriguez at 11:40am December 15
I guess we should have let Hussain live, your right, maybe he could continue to mass murder and torure his own people . Darn
Dan Bracken at 12:01pm December 15
Linda,
Regardless of who did or didn’t vote for him he is OUR President. I didn’t vote for Obama, but he is my President. Do we have to agree with an support every decision they make? Absolutely not! However, if we could tone down the sniping (both sides) we might be able to return to a constructive dialogue
Crystal Rodriguez at 12:32pm December 15
Yes, I agree, and thank you.
Gina Parris at 1:16pm December 15
Was watching the Early Show, and the anchors asked the same question about the Secret Service. They said that everyone in attendance there had been screened and checked for weapons, and that’s why the SS might have been a little slower to catch on and respond to what happened. But I’ll bet that SOMEBODY got an earful from DC!
Sara Amuso at 1:33pm December 15
The whole argument was that he got a 2nd shoe off without being tackled ... I laughed when W ducked and then put his head back up! He should have stayed DOWN!
Linda Bright Whelchel at 1:57pm December 15
Not sniping…just stating my opinion..It is still a free country, right? It is amazing that, when someone states an opinion that others don’t agree with, it all of a sudden turns into an argument! AND we have enough problems HERE to worry about! WHy do we need to go making more trouble with Hussain or anyone else? We are supposed to start with ourselves and then go outwards…We do not take care of our neighbors before we feed OUR children!
Dan Bracken at 2:53pm December 15
I am not arguing with you. We are both have a right to our opinion. Here is my primary point: Bush was attacked from day 1 until the final day,in part because the Democrats wanted retribution for the way Clinton was treated. Now Obama is being attacked before he takes office. Let’s attack the issues not the candidates. When you blame half of our ... country for voting for someone, you are in a sense disowning the President. There was a time when we supported our President even if we disagreed. Using your family comparison, we may not always like or agree with our family, but they are still ours!
