Amy’s Army activation alert - shorty awards time

A few of you have been super kind to nominate me for a SHORTY AWARD in the Journalist category.  (Someone else put me in the #RockingNewsAnchor category too! )

On Twitter they’ve been handing out the shorty awards - for a couple of years, and if you win you get to go to the big ceremony in New York.

We’ve been building an online community and conversation for three years now.  Ten years if you count the old interactive segment I used to do on News Channel 7 at 6, via email.  We’ve pioneered this interactive television concept together. So a vote for me, is really a vote for what we’ve been able to create -  this meaningful relationship and sense of community.

I am posting a link where you can put in my Twitter name @TVAmy and you have to put a reason WHY I should get the shorty and it must be in the JOURNALIST category. You only get one vote, so you don’t have to keep voting.

As you and your timeline know for THREE YEARS I’ve been faithfully tweeting you the news, hopefully making life easier for you, to just glance at your twitter stream and catch up on the big stories, nationally and locally. 

And we’ve been LISTENING to you, your comments, your tips, your feedback - helping to shape our newscasts - and our coverage on the stories YOU care about.  We’ve made the news TWO-WAY - together.

The top journalist has 400 plus votes right now.  I know Team Amy can gather that many and then some :)
