HELPING HAITI - month long relief mission for Spartanburg pilot

John Somero will be ferrying supplies into Haiti and could wind up bringing people in desperate need of medical care back with him.

He’s volunteered the next month of his life, to help Haiti, along with his wife Judy, who plans to work with Orphans while she’s there.

The couple has never been to Haiti before but had worked with Romanian orphans in the past.

John’s based in Spartanburg and says you can keep up with the relief missions on this website. The flights are coordinated through Agape Flights.

It’s the first Haiti relief flight to come through Spartanburg’s downtown airport.

John talked to me there, before leaving on his trip.  (I may not know my planes, but I know a great mission effort when I see one :) )

The relief effort was front page news in Bennington Vermont where the cargo company that is donating the plane, AirNow, is located.
