Uplifting Event raises money to keep the mobile mammography unit on the move

Already 2 thousand women have been screened. And the new mobile mammography unit hopes to double those numbers next year, thanks to a very successful fundraising event in Spartanburg - backed by Farrell Chevrolet.

The owners, Trista and William Farrell, are passionate advocates for breast health and clear the dealership floor to transform it into a high end luncheon environment for more than 300 women.

The event sold out again this year raising more than 100,000 dollars to keep the mobile mammography unit on the move.

The Farrell’s honor three Conquering Heros.  This year:  Novalene Gowdy, Gerda Hook, and Julie Lowry

If you want the mobile unit to come to your place of work or business, or to a community event call 560-6400

We also learned that you can sponsor people who can’t afford a mammogram, and pay for the exam with a 125 dollar donation. And you can give that amount, or smaller sized donations,  in honor or in memory of someone.  Contact http://RegionalFoundation.com if you would like to make mammography possible for everyone.

I’m told of the 600 sponsored mammograms since 2010, 19 of them discovered breast cancer!

Take a look at my pictures from the event!
