Walter Cronkite Dead at age 92: NEW - Colleagues at CBS in NY remember “The Gold Standard”

NEW colleagues at WCBS in New York remember the man who represented “the gold standard” in TV Journalism.

A man who’s been away from the CBS Evening News anchor desk since 1981, who many of you are remembering as though he’d left your living room yesterday.
I’ve heard “one and only” “legendary” “icon” to name a few of the titles you assign this journalism giant.
He died Friday night at age 92, but clearly will live on. Obituary here.
I remember walking into Channel 7’s studios to interview in 1990, and proudly on the lobby wall, hung a picture of Walter Cronkite at the studio ground breaking ceremony in the late 70’s.
I was so impressed, that the owner, Walter Brown, was so close with a man who inspired my career in Journalism.
