Spartanburg Day School Offers Equestrian

Posted: Updated:
Spartanburg -

In 2004, the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) was formed to promote equestrian sports for middle and high school students.  Sally saw this opportunity as an excellent fit for the Spartanburg Day School.  Many private schools now have equestrian sports because of the IEA'spremise that students should have the opportunity to learn the art and sport of riding without owning their own horse.

In the first year of equestrian sports at SDS, the goal will be to practice and train with the Motlow Creek IEA team, with a view toward competing as the SDS equestrian team at the SCISA invitational next spring.

Currently, the team has five riders confirmed to compete for SDS with the realistic goal of 18.
