*NEW*  VIDEO streaming 20 minute Crenshaw Theater Fire report as roof collapsed

It’s not every night I stumble onto breaking news.

But last week, folks on WSPA.com and on my social networks saw my live stream, for 20 minutes from the scene of the Old Crenshaw Movie Theater.

I don’t have that good a nose for news.  I was just on my way to dinner and the blaze was just starting to poke through the roof.   We called 911, just as a couple of others noticed it and called it in.

In this first clip, you can see me and our assignment manager Russ Bradley pulling up to it, the roof collapsing just2 and a half minutes into it, fire trucks starting to arrive and the fire fight getting under way.

;

In this second clip you’ll see the fire fight continue, a fire commissioner describe the strategy and ladder trucks arriving to get water on this fire from above.

So what are your memories of this theater.  It made national news in 2006, when the owner stopped showing R rated movies.

The parking lot was packed with folks, remembering all the years they’d watched movies there.  Post your comments below.
