Tragic lessons from the flames

What a tragedy. And I could have easily done the same thing. So many of us do things everyday that we don’t think twice about. From pumping gas, to jump starting a car. It doesn’t seem like a big deal. But it is a fiery danger that we tend to under estimate.
If my car battery died, and the car was in my two car garage, I would have probably pulled another car in to the other side to jump start it. You know the drill, those things always happen when you are running late, or need to get somewhere and the rush is on to try and jump start the car and get going.
After seeing the inferno that turned the Young family home into, I’ve learned my lesson. I am so sorry that they are having to pay such a heavy price what appears to be a simple mistake.
Just watching the home burn, is lesson enough for anyone. I am so grateful that the Young’s were not hurt. See the video here.
A similar fire danger exists every time you pump gas. A static charge, you cannot see or feel can suddenly have flames erupting from your tank. Would you know what to do? Do you know how to prevent it? See the powerful live blog replay and video clips here that will help you understand just how careful you need to be at a gas station.
These are powerful reminders to think about the potential dangers around us, and take special care to protect yourself and those you love.
My heart goes out to the Young family.
