Faithful Twitter from Church VIDEO

image
Tweeting in church… are we just entering a new age, or is it downright disrespectful?

This week I’m taking a closer look at Twittering churches.

Here’s my report from Thursday night’s show at 10

I focus on one congregation where it’s growing membership and the engagement of church members, as they connect with the pastor’s message by Tweeting what he says Sunday mornings.

It’s high tech note taking, where other people get to see your notes…. people you don’t even know..  and people who may or may not be Christians.

We’d like to get a healthy respectful conversation going on Twitter messages being sent during church.

Just this week, I’ve had two local traditional Baptist churches start following me on Twitter.

It appears the trend is growing beyond the trendier, more modern congregations.  It’s seeping into old school religion.

So would you be offended if someone pulled out their phone to share God’s word, as conveyed by their pastor?

What’s wrong with trying to reach more people using the technologies the faithful would say God’s made available.

Is it just a new tool to spread the tried and true message of hope?

Let me know of churches that are Twittering in the upstate. We’ll post a list here.
