Social Business:  Empower South Carolina

image
South Carolina needs to write it’s story with your help.  That’s what is behind a new grass roots effort called Empower South Carolina.

Empower South Carolina is using social media sites like Facebook and LinkedIn and Twitter to grow the movement and spread the message.

John Warner is behind the effort.  He runs the Swampfox Community. As we talked after a recent social media conference he painted this interesting possible scenario for organizing and getting better results in South Carolina schools. What if the geographical districts went away.  What if South Carolina schools were organized by mission:  Model the arts schools after the Governor’s School in Greenville.  Model others after the Science and Math version.  You get the idea.

It’s this kind of out of the box thinking about future solutions they are trying to come up with.  But they need ideas. Lots of ideas.

Kickoff meetings have already been held in Anderson and Greenville. Spartanburg Wednesday August 26th,  at the Westside Library at 5 pm.  And Thursday August 27th, in Clemson at Jordan Hall on the Univeristy Campus.  That also begins at 5 pm.  More on the meeting times here.
