What’s your mood? Twitter used for a national happy scale
Happy? Angry? Mad? Twitter knows it, if you buy into the research. Learn more about how the nation’s mood is being tracked on Twitter.
As you look at the link below, green indicates happiness and the darker red colors, direct opposite. You can see trends for time of day and day of the week. Early morning and late evening lead to happier tweets. And watch out because Thursday nights are a low point, when it comes to the mood reflected on Twitter. (I am posting this on a Thursday!)
Researchers from Northwestern and Harvard are behind the project, analyzing the words you tweet that float through the Twitterverse.
