Wild about Girl Scout Cookies -  should scouts be able to sell on the net?  BLOGPOLL

Should Girl Scouts be able to sell cookies on the internet?

A young girl named Wild Freeborn in Asheville used the help of her social media saavy dad, to get closer to her goal of a big trip.  She needs to sell 1200 boxes of cookies to take the trip.  That’s ALOT of door knocking.  So they decided to try something more efficient.

Check out this link:

But that violates Girl Scout Cookie Sale policy and it got Wild in trouble.

The Scouts made her stop selling on the net, and the You Tube appeal that was once online has been taken down.

The Scouts big concern is that the internet would give some girls an unfair advantage.  And there is concern about safety on the net.

But then how safe is it these days knocking on doors and selling to strangers in parking lots?  And aren’t there parents giving their kids unfair advantages the old fashioned way - taking the cookie sheets to work, etc?

So what do you think?  Is it time for the scouts to get social media saavy and let Scouts form their facebook groups (Wild has four or five with HUNDREDS of members like this one http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=49135491151) record their You Tube videos, and set up their pay pal accounts to pay online?
